THE AIM

The Adoley Centre is a place where families and those with disabilities receive initial support. The centre will also oversee the welfare arm of the Charity.

The vision behind the project is to a create a bridge where children and adults, living in the district surrounding Amasaman, have access to a range of services that will meet their specific needs. Some of these services will be housed at the centre while others will be signposted.

The project has been shaped by the individuals that the Charity has met in Ghana and their stories and experiences.

With a commitment to fulfilling the Millennium development goals, the centre will work in collaboration with the health clinic in Amasaman and other agencies.

The aim of the Adoley Centre is to educate, and empower, by offering the following services…..

KINDERGARTEN

A pre-school will be run for those living in the immediate area. Spaces at the Kindergarten will be offered free to those unable to pay.

MATERNITY SERVICES

Antenatal advice and support for parents will be offered; supplying information and guidance on breastfeeding, hygiene, nutrition and safety.

FAMILY HEALTH

Child Health Program and nutritional advice will be available for parents…

EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT

Support will be offered to those who wish to consider training and employment. Either with external organisations/employers or through accessing opportunities with Farm4life projects.

PARENTING AND FAMILY SUPPORT

Advice to parents will be available at significant transition points for the family (e.g. pre-birth, early days, settling into childcare).

OUTREACH TO ENGAGE THE MOST VULNERABLE

Part of the function of the Adoley Centre will be to work with individuals and families unable to access the centre directly. Support workers will do home visits to facilitate independent living.

The Adoley Centre will also house the Farm4life office.
